For Croatian athletes, the year 2025 started with a huge success. At the 29th Men’s Handball World Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF) from 14 January to 2 February 2025 in Croatia, Denmark and Norway, the Croatian team took silver and became world vice-champions. The championship will also be remembered as the last for the team’s captain Domagoj Duvnjak, as well as for the team’s players Ivan Pešić and Igor Karačić.
